On a personal note: Jan Philip Wiepen is one of my magic students from the former Zauberakademie Jedinat — and I am proud that he managed to open his own magic theatre in Wuppertal. Exchanging ideas with him remains a genuine joy to this day, and he will soon celebrate his tenth anniversary. My wholehearted recommendation: visit Jan Philip Wiepen at his magic theatre in Wuppertal, too.
In the Arrenberg, where Wuppertal is at its liveliest, Wiepen works his magic at eye level: 56 seats, drinks and small snacks included in the ticket. Four full-evening shows take turns, “Gefühlschaos”, “Kopfsache”, “Fingerspiele” and “Blickfang”, each running two times 60 minutes. Thursdays bring the shorter “Magic Mix”, Saturday afternoons the family show.
There are also special formats such as “Süße Illusionen” with coffee and cake or magic with sparkling wine and currywurst, magic workshops and private evenings for company and family celebrations. By its own account, it is the only close-up magic theatre in the Bergisches Land.
