Strotmanns Magic Lounge
Europe’s most successful close-up magic theatre.
The venue
Magic in Stuttgart.
An institution: since 2009, Thorsten Strotmann, “The Gentleman Magician”, has run his own theatre in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, on his own steam and without subsidies. The Magic Lounge is regarded as Europe’s most successful close-up magic theatre; by its own figures, around 40,000 guests come every year.
What sets it apart is the auditorium: 199 seats on seven rows in a semicircle, each row 57 centimetres higher than the one in front, so that everyone at the back can see the hands too. The programme consists of the full-evening “HAUTNAH” shows, the shorter “After Work Magic” on Thursdays and a family day on weekend afternoons. The “Bar der Gedanken” opens before and after the show.
