Magic in Bremen.
Within the walls of an old fire station, nothing catches light these days — nothing but curiosity. In the listed building in Bremen’s Überseestadt, directly above the Feuerwache restaurant, David Lavé has set up his own close-up theatre: three rows in a semicircle, the first an arm’s length from the magician.
As a diplomat’s child, Lavé lived in Baghdad, Barbados and Papua New Guinea, and spent around 25 years performing for corporate audiences and on cruise ships before founding his own house in Bremen. The evening: two times 45 minutes of magic and comedy, with a 20-minute break at the bar in between. Anyone who wants to eat first only has to go one floor down. By its own account, it is the first close-up magic theatre in Bremen and Lower Saxony.
